As of the end of February the restoration programme is approaching the end stages. Following a schedule update meeting with the contractor, he has indicated that the refurbished sound board will be installed in March, which following installation of the remaining pipes, will allow the top half of the organ to be finished. The next stage of the project will involve the installation of the new bellows and finally having the foot pedals operational.
It is planned that the organ will be 95% functional by Easter Sunday, with a small amount of work to be carried over into April. During the months of May and June final adjustments, tuning etc. will be carried out to verify and confirm total completion of the project.
A date for the Re-dedication Service will be announced at a later stage.
