The last Saturday in November has always been fixed in the parish diary for many years for the Christmas Market and the 2025 market held on Sat 29th November, was once again a highly successful event, raising just short of €15,000 for parish funds.
However, the Christmas Market is not just about raising money, important though that is! It is also a major social event attended not only by parishioners but by their friends and neighbours and those from neighbouring church communities.
Months of planning go into this annual event by the Fundraising Committee headed up by Lucy Michael and we are indebted to them for all they do. It is a mammoth task, but it was good to see a number of new faces involved this year which is most encouraging. A full review of the market will take place early in the new year, but various changes made this year worked well. As always, the raffle was a highlight raising over €6,500 alone!
