Announcement from acting Priest- in- Charge, Rev. Lesley Robinson

                                                                                                                                 29th August 2021

My Dear Friends,

It is with great joy that I can tell you today that the Board of Nomination has appointed the Rev. Canon David Gillespie as Rector of the United Parishes of Malahide, Portmarnock and St. Doulagh’s. Canon Gillespie is currently the Rector of the Parish of St. Ann with St. Stephen and St. Mark and is a Canon of Christ Church Cathedral. Highly esteemed within the Diocese and the wider Church, David will bring a wealth of gifts and experience to these united parishes. Please pray for him and his wife, Tanya, as they prepare for this new and exciting phase of their lives and ministry. Please pray also for the Parish of St. Ann with St. Stephen and St. Mark, receiving the news today of his forthcoming departure and their subsequent, upcoming vacancy.

Our sincere thanks are due to the parochial nominators, Anne Winslow-O’Dea, Ken McAlister, Emer Bryan and Karl Daly, who have worked diligently on behalf of the parish and whose efforts have now borne such wonderful fruit.

As yet, no date has been set for David’s Service of Institution, so I will remain as your Priest-in-Charge in the interim, ably supported by Mark, Anne, Tom and Kingsley. I know that you will all give David and Tanya a warm welcome and your full support when they arrive in due course.

With continued good wishes and prayers,

Lesley

Rev. Lesley Robinson, Rural Dean
