St Doulagh’s Church features in tv movie MOONFLEET

Recently part of a film called MOONFLEET was shot in St. Doulagh’s Church and grounds. The movie is scheduled to be shown on Sky 1 on Saturday 28th December–Part 1 and Sunday 29th December—Part 2, both starting at 8pm.

The film is based on an adaptation of a book by the English novelist J. Meade Falkner, first published in 1898. The book was extremely popular among children worldwide up until the 1970s, mostly for its themes of adventure and gripping storyline. It remains a popular story widely read and is still sometimes studied in schools

Moonfleet in 1757 was a small village near the sea in the south of England and the story evolves around smuggling activities taking place in the area.
