ST ANDREW’S SOCIAL CLUB
On Saturday 22nd June 2013 thirty-one of us departed from the Parish Centre to firstly the Mullingar Park Hotel for tea and scones and then onwards to the Arigna Mines which was fascinating experience to learn of what it was like to be a coal miner.
The guides who took us on the tour were originally miners themselves, working at the coal face, until the Arigna mines were finally closed.
Our last stop of the day was to the Bush Hotel where we had a lovely meal before returning to Malahide.
A great day was had by all!
