Categories: News

Festival of Flowers at St. Doulagh’s on the theme “Lord for the Years–we give our thanks today”  was opened on the evening of the 10th October by Trevor Sargent, Former leader of the Green Party and he spoke about the site and his own love for the Church and its’ history.
The magnificent displays of flowers speaking of the “Power and Glory of God and His Wonderful Creation” were brought together by many of the finest flower arrangers in the country.  Large numbers of people came from many parts of the country to view the displays and to enjoy  guided tours of the church.  We are thankful to the following who put so much time and hard work into making the event so successful, Isobel Morris, Norma Sherwood,  the members of Sutton Floral Art group, The Naul Flower Club, and North Dublin Flower Club who gave of their time & talents not just for the few days, but for many weeks beforehand. Thanks are also due to the many members of the Friends of St Doulagh’s, the Guides who conduct tours for many years, and the parishioners who welcomed the visitors and who supplied the food for our “Harvest Home” an evening of Music followed by Supper which brought our Festival to a close. We also thank the musicians Anne -Marie O’Farrell – Harpist, The Quartet of Young People from the Young Dublin Symphonia, and also David Lamb on the keyboard for providing us with a great evening of music.
